The club for runners in Saratoga Springs, NY

Welcome to the Stryders Book Club, and thanks to Hope and Laura for suggesting it!

To get things started, we'll meet on First Tuesdays at 6 pm at Palette. Schedule:

December 3:  26 Marathons by Meb Keflezighi (pronounced like this).

January 7: Running with Sherman, reviewed by Laura Clark for Strydewrite.

Come prepared to discuss your reactions, any takeaways that you find especially valuable, anything that surprised you, or anything else that comes to mind. You may read it on paper, Kindle, or listen to it; no need to purchase or to bring it with you unless you find it helpful. Feel free to bring a friend! Nonmembers are welcome (but they will be encouraged to join the Stryders).

We'll discuss methods of selecting books at these first two meetings. They won't always coincide with Strydewrite reviews, but I know that many of us could not resist purchasing Running with Sherman after Chris McDougall's highly entertaining and moving book talk at Northshire November 3. If you take a look at the back-cover endorsements, you'll see that he's targeting animal lovers with this one more than runners, but obviously we are his built-in audience.
