The club for runners in Saratoga Springs, NY
We are returning to the Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve in Clifton Park but this time we will meet at the Whipple Truss Bridge Trailhead. The running here is on flat gravel paths that were part of the old tow path that pulled boats along the old Erie Canal. It offers great views of the Mohawk River on one side and the historic walls of the old canal on the other.
When walking here in the late spring or summer, be wary that you're likely to encounter many insects. You're never far from water, including the stagnant area of the old canal, so mosquitoes tend to breed in the area.
